Section 2: What are your responsibilities on the Internet?

When you use the Internet, you may feel anonymous, but you are not. Today's computers are so powerful that they are able to track where messages and requests originate. When you look at a website, or send an email, you are leaving electronic footprints. You are representing your SELF, your SCHOOL, and your COUNTRY ... to the WORLD. You have a responsibility to present yourself well and show that you are a good "NETizen".

Just as we follow our "3 B's" here at Aina Haina, we want to use those same rules when we use the Internet. We will Be Kind, Be Safe, and Be Responsible.

Always remember, NETizens ...

  • GLO 6 says we will be effective and ethical users of technology ... ethical means choosing the RIGHT way to act when using the internet for communication, learning, or entertainment.
  • Cyber-bullying is using the internet or technology to tease, threaten, or in anyway harm someone else.

At the same time we are using the Internet responsibly, we need to remember Section 3, to be safe!
