Magnet E- Academy

FEASIBILITY

The Magnet E-Academy project has been carefully designed and will meet the criteria of the Challenge Grant for Technology in Education.

Improved Instruction. The project uses the very technologies it teaches to deliver the components. It provides an electronic forum for the continued interaction of participants long after the grant has been completed. Thus, the student and teacher participants will be trained and then mentored over long periods of time until they have successfully integrated their learning into their lives. The underlying technologies themselves may change, but the learning environments and the support systems created and sustained by them will remain dynamic.

Consortium Support The members of the consortium are committed to contributing substantial resources of time, hardware, software, expertise and services. Each of the consortium members has been actively engaged in the development of educational models, products, training components and assorted curricular materials. These resources will be shared as the project is developed. The group consists of individuals and organizations; some of who have been working together, others whom are forging new partnerships. All members have developed, tested, and delivered their materials at one time or another. This project seeks to bring everyone together to create synergy and build a strong advocacy for technology training within communities.

Delivery. This grant application reflects the stability and tract record of the participating partners, highlights the project design and dissemination strategies, and offers a budget narrative which clarifies the goals and objectives of the project.

Evaluation. Implementation of evaluation methods will be continuous and tied to the National Educational Technology Standards as well as new research on learning communities, online teaching strategies, learning styles, and skills development.

Dissemination. Best practices and evaluation results of the project shall be shared through conferences, web forums, television programming and print publications. Student achievement will be measured programmatically through demonstrated statewide competition.
