My Business Lan topic is on Hawaiian Airlines. Of course, there are many
similarities in a
school Lan and a Business Lan, computers, cat-5, fiber etc. The differences
are in the software,
distance ran, etc. plus money. The Businesses have much better equipment,
because of the money
factor.
Hal is converting from a mainframe system which is presently from Texas
(distance and a
lot of money) to a client server system which they can house in Honolulu
(money saved).
Hal's software is completely different than a school Lan system (education).
Theirs is for
running air traffic ( has to be perfect) and for running inventory (large
amounts). Schools
software are mainly for educational areas.
In summary, the two look alike from the outside, but inside they are
very, very different as
we have stated.
