we are: An educational organization
Aim:
1) To establish and advance standards for excellence in all phases
of theatre arts
2) To create active interest and understanding of theatre arts in
high school
Focus:
The student - for meritorious work in theatre arts: acheivement,
involvement, and betterment
Organization:
According to the Int. Thespian Society Guidelines, we need:
1) Sponsor
2) Eight charter members (minimum)
3) Six new members each year (minimum)
Point system (1 pt.= 10 hrs.)
1 star = 20 points, 2 stars = 30 points, 3 stars = 40 points
4 stars = 50 points, Honor thespian = 60 points+
4) Members will be classified as active or associate
Active members have done two full length plays and have completed
at least 100 hours of theatre arts service.
Associate members are currently pursuing active membership.
5) Officers -elected and installed at the end of the school year
Annual Membership fee:
Active members: $20 to the International Thespian Society for lifetime
member
Associate members: $6 annually to local chapter
Services and Benefits:
Active members: Dramatics magazine ten times per year
Induction ceremony
Certificates, Theatre Arts Annual showcase
Eligibility for national scholarships
All members: Workshops, conferences
Local Chapter: Reduced royalty costs
Fundraising ideas, newsletters, retreats |
Afterschool
meetings held first and third Fridays of each month at 3 pm.
and are open to students in grades 9-12 from Castle as well
as other schools.
