Slide Show Directions using
ClarisWorks
Quick Directions for making a
simple slide show using Claris
- Open up either Draw or Word Processing
- Go to View (Window) and select Page
view-this will give you the gray borders
- Go to Format-Document and set all margins
to 0 in. In the size box-change pages down to the
number of pages in your slide show.
- Go to File-Page set up and choose
horizontal orientation (the man laying sideways)
- Go to the bottom left corner of the window and change the size
to 50%.
- If you want a master slide for your background go to
Options-Edit Master Page and make your
master. When you're finished go back into
Options-Edit Master Page and deselect
it. After doing this, your changes should be shown on all your
pages.
- You can put anything you want on your page. Text, Clip Art,
scanned pictures etc.
- When you want to add text you go to the Text tool and create a
text frame and then enter your text. You can change color, size,
style and fonts before you type your text or afterwards.
- If you want clip art you can go to File-Library
and choose a category that you like. A clip art window will open
up and you can choose View-by object to see
all the pictures in that category. You can drag your clip art to
wherever you want on your screen.
- You can also bring in clip art from a disk. Put your disk in
the drive and go to File-Insert. Locate your art
that you want and then say open (insert).
- Don't forget that you can alter your graphics by going to
Arrange. In that menu you can rotate, free rotate, scale,
flip, align, move to back etc.
- When you're ready for your show, go to View (window)
and choose Slide show. Set the options that you want
(fade, loop, advance automatically) and then choose background and
border colors. Press start and your show will begin.
- You can advance from slide to slide by pressing either the
spacebar or clicking once on your mouse.
- When finished you can press either Q or ESC and
it will take you out of slide show mode.
- If you decide that you don't like the order of your slides, go
to View (window)-choose slide show and then
in the left corner of the dialogue window just drag your slides to
the order that you want them to be in.
- You can use your slide show on a stand alone computer, print
overhead transparencies, connect your computer to a television or
other monitor, or make a video tape of the show. Connecting to a
television and making a video tape requires a port on the back of
the computer for taking the information out. (video out). Older
computers also need a little box called a scan converter to send
an image from your computer to a tv.
- ENJOY!!!
