Teachers will be the major decision-makers as to how and when technology will be used in the classroom.
Can technology really enhance and support standards-based curriculum or is it just another passing fad? |
With all the emphasis on getting schools wired and computers into the hands of our students, how have we prepared teachers for using this new technology? Pulling wires and installing hardware and software is one thing, but now that those computers are sitting in your classroom what will you do with them? Do you find yourself sitting there wondering where and how to begin? Did anyone ask you if you wanted the computers or the Internet anyway? Do you feel like some important decisions were made without your input as the classroom teacher? Do you feel like you're now expected to use tools that you're not prepared to use? As the classroom teacher you are a major decision-maker on how this technology is going to be used or not used. Among the many questions that you'll need to answer, one important one stands out begging to be addressed.
You'll be searching for answers to this question as you work through this WebQuest. |
