Project Description

Students have been sent back through time to observe life in other decades.  They are to write down their observations and daily discoveries in their Time Log and Decades Archive.  They should keep track of important events that occurred, record emotions, ideas, relevant facts and note down events associated with their chosen topic area.  Students will be returning to present day and sharing some of their discoveries with those from other decades.  They will then be asked to make predictions about the future based on the information gathered during the decades.

Essential Question

What do you suppose will happen in the future if things continue to change as rapidly over the decades as they appear to have done in the past? If you could imagine and predict based upon what you saw in your decade, what do you suppose will happen in the future?  What predictions could be made? What solutions could you offer to coming problems you predict?

Tasks

Students will:

· conduct research on their topic and answer the essential question

· conduct an interview

· record notes, observations and reflections in individual travel log and decades archive

· record notes, goals, accomplishments, evidence and other concerns in their team journal

· create a trunk panel and a mini box (include research and objects and own opinions)

· conduct a panel discussion

· write a reflection on the posed question(s)
