Overview/Course Description
The primary objective of the "Literature Genres" E-School course is to introduce the student to various types of literature. This course will cover five different genres of literature in one semester. Individual genres will take approximately 3-4 weeks to complete. Students will be required to read a sampling of works for each genre.

The student will identify the characteristics of the genre(s) studied.

The student will produce a piece of writing applying the characteristics of the genre(s) studied

The student will use technology tools to gather information and create a product.

 Prerequisites

Any students wanting to take this course . . .

must share this site with a parent, get parental permission to participate by printing up a copy of the form(s) for parent to sign, and snail-mail the forms to the instructors at ________.

must have access to a computer (with a modem or other connection to an Internet provider) and fax machine.

must know how to use the Internet, e-mail with attachments, and global chat.

must have and know how to use a wordprocessing program (e.g., AppleWorks/ ClarisWorks) and/or multimedia software (Kid Pix, Multimedia Workshop, etc.)

must have some means of accessing a variety of literature sources from a school library or public library.
