Goal: To develop a tutorial so that teachers/students will be able to create and publish a complete newsletter using the AppleWorks Word Processing Program to communicate classroom activities with parents. (Note: AppleWorks has a tutorial and template for newsletters using the Drawing Program.)

Objectives:

• Teacher/student to access tutorial on the web.
• Using the AppleWorks 5.0 word processor to create a newsletter from scratch.
• Create a masthead/banner with title, logo, date.
• Insert articles with related graphics (digitized photos, clip art, students' art work).
• Publish newsletter and send home.

• Macintosh Computer
• AppleWorks 5.0
• Ideas for articles, student contributions
• Graphics
• Floppy disks

Prerequisites:

• Teachers/students know how to use the digital camera.
• Scanned images and photos are in usable format.
• Teachers/students are familiar with the AppleWorks word processing program.
