Kalama Intermediate School works hard to keep its students, parents, and staff connected to support and encourage one another to maintain a successful learning environment.
Our Parents on Campus Program offers parents an opportunity to spend some time at the school, to visit with their child, or to just become more comfortable with the Kalama experience.
Other opportunities for Volunteering arise throughout the year such as Fright Night, the Lokahi Tree, and the Shortbread Cookie Sale.
Much of the connections are handled through the Parent Community Networking Center whose mission is "to develop a sense of community and a caring, learning network to strengthen family, neighborhood, school, and classroom for every student's well-being and attainment of standards." (HI State Dept. of Ed.)
Additionally, the Parent Teacher Ohana gives members of the school an opportunity to work together for the betterment of the school.
