Oviraptor looked liked a big bird. With a lizard-like tail and no feathers. It walked on 2 feet. It used it's front claws to grab it's prey. It had a strangely-shaped parrot-like head. It had a short toothless beak and extremely powerful jaws. It was 3 feet tall at the hips and 8 feet long. It weighed 60 pounds.

Oviraptor was an omnivore. It ate plants. Scientist think it might have eaten bugs, eggs, and berries. It might have eaten dead dinosaurs, too. It might have lived in the desert environment or maybe a forest because it ate berries. It had a long tail and sharp claws to protect itself.

Oviraptor was first found in the Gobi Desert in Mongolia. It lived in the Late Cretaceous period.
