Special Education

Students in special education programs will be assigned classes by current variance teachers. Students may meet with variance list teachers to discuss course selections. This policy will apply to both feeder school teachers and students, and to teachers and students presently at King Kekaulike High School Courses selected must fulfill current IEP requirements.

Modified courses to meet the individual needs of students for the High School Diploma (Credit Courses) may include:

COMMUNITY-BASED INSTRUCTION FOR HIGH SCHOOL

Students are placed in this program based on the recommendation of the school's screening committee. Students identified are unable to cope with the regular school setting and are provided with a learning alternative based on their needs to realize academic success.
