2nd Quarter Personnel Changes: Vice Principal, Mr. Mark Elliott, has been asked to be the Temporarily Assigned Principal at Lokelani Intermediate since the current Principal is on leave for the 2nd quarter. Fri., Oct. 26th was his last day at KKHS as on Mon., Oct. 29, he will report to Lokelani. He is expected to return to KKHS after completing this assignment. During the 2nd quarter Mr. Ty Ogasawara will be the Temporarily Assigned Vice Principal till Mr. Elliott returns. Mr. Ogasawara is also our new Boys Golf coach. We wish both men great success in their new roles.

King Kekaulike High School is a Hawaii public high school in the district of Maui, established in 1995. The campus is spread over 50 acres on the majestic slopes of Haleakala. Students come from the communities of Haiku, Kula, Makawao, Paia, and Pukalani. The school colors are Black, for Kekaulike’s thunder and Teal, for the green land (aina) and blue sky (lani).

Our school programs include Gifted and Talented (includes Accelerated and AP classes), Computer Education, Special Education, Special Motivation, Hawaiian Language Immersion, co-curricular activities, and a wide range of athletics.

King Kekaulike High School strives in unity to support excellence in living, learning, and leading by focusing on Respect for self, others, and our school, and by promoting Rigor and Relevancy in learning. Six General Learner Outcomes are the essential overarching goals for all grade levels, from elementary through middle to high, and all of the academic disciplines, whether mathematics, career and life skills, health, or any of the seven other content areas. These General Learner Outcomes do not exist in isolation, but should be an integral part of the school culture as demonstrated in daily classroom instruction and assessment.
