Requirements for Athletics Participation: There are several requirements for students interested in participating in athletics next school year which they can work on NOW:

* Grades:  Get their grades up to a 2.0 GPA or better, & work so they don't  get any F's in a core class.  This will determine if you are eligible for 1st quarter participation.

* Physical Examinations : Every year, students will need a current physical examination signed & cleared by a medical doctor.  The physicals are good for one calendar year.  So, if a student gets a physical on May 25, 2012 this will cover until May 24, 2013.  Get an early start with an appointment with your family doctor for a physical.

* Physical forms are available in the main office, Mr. Ban's class, any of our two athletic trainers (Ms Jaime Lowe or Mr. Jon Lazo), Mr. Higa, or Mr. Saiki.  If a student is working out this summer for athletics, he/she will need a physical before starting training.  Don't wait till the last minute.

**Please note - you will need the provided physical forms from our school for an athletic physical.  All other forms will not be accepted.

In order to participate in athletics students must have an updated athletic physical every year of participation. In addition they must have medical insurance, parental permission, paid MIL athletic fee and meet academic eligibility (2.0 GPA with no F's in core classes.) Students must also maintain good standing in school and must attend school in order to practice and compete.

*** A special sports physical is required to participate in school athletics. See the school office or athletic director for more information.

***MIL Transfer Policy - If you transfer from one Maui District high school to another within a twelve month period, there may be limitations on your participation in MIL sports. Please speak to the athletic director for concerns related to this.
