Professional Learning Communities

A PLC is a highly collaborative team of teachers that engages in professional learning to improve student learning. PLCs are given the time to meet regularly during the school day and are to be used to focus on improving teaching and student learning. With a school wide PLC process, all teachers are organized into PLCs. The process connects the school's student data and the teachers' knowledge and experience to the research and best practices shown to increase student achievement. -Adapted from Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory
