Fairy Tales

I've done this fairy tale unit a couple of times and both times the students seemed to enjoy it.  This unit is a combination of literature, creative writing, and public-speaking.  The literature portion consists of reading fairy tales from different cultures and finding similarities between the different stories.  After the students have been exposed to different fairy tales then they have to write their own fairy tale.  I take them through the writing process (brainstorming/free-write, rough draft, peer editing, final draft, publication).  At the very end of this unit the studnets will share their fairy tales with the rest of the class.
