Course Description

This segment will cover instructional design strategies, performance standards, assessment, and curriculum design for incorporating electronic mail, Internet, and multimedia into an integrated unit. The course will involve designing two web-based products infusing performance standards, rubrics, and multimedia. Reaction papers to online readings will also be required regarding educational transformation in the 21st century. Course objectives include: examining the changing image of the 21st century educator and student; discussing various instructional methodologies for using information technology to support curricular goals; participating in online activities using various Internet and multimedia tools; designing an individual practical resource website; designing a web-based electronic school course for a collaborative, inquiry-based activity using a variety of instructional technology strategies; and applying the functionality of telecommunication services to transform the delivery of instruction.

Course Objectives
