Super Kids! Super Staff! Super School!
I. WELCOME (ELIZABETH KALAMA, CHAIRPERSON)
II. PRINCIPAL'S UPDATE
Nelson is away on a trip. SCC's role was brought up at Waianae Complex SCC meeting at Makaha Resorts. We should play a prominent role in the retention aspect of hiring new teachers.
III. REPORTS FROM REPRESENTATIVES
B. Classified: (Elizabeth Kalama, Reda Antonio) No report.
C. Parents: (Susan Endo, Michelle Chung) Parents like the idea of school t-shirts. Susan asked about the school's sense of HAS testing. Susan Luna reported that results will be given to schools in July. Many variables, including the changing of tests.
D. Students: (John Luke Enos, Tatiana Avilla) Student Council is coordinating Memorial Day lei-making. Sixth graders recently completed their Ropes Course with the National Guard, and also dedicated their garden to Jack Johnson at the Farm's Open House.
E. Community: (Jackie Magsayo, Gigi Cocquio) How can the SCC play a more active role in school? What is the role of SCC? The manual goes over what we cannot do, not what we CAN do. How can we REALLY help the school build community and relationships?
B. AUGUST 4, 2007 EDUCATION SUMMIT: Handouts distributed to SCC Council members. Please RSVP to Lynn by June 7th.
C. SCHOOL T-SHIRTS: Positive reaction by council members to shirts. Will try to have sample of shirts at the next meeting.
D. NEXT MEETING DATE: June 6, 2007, 3:30, Library
ii. Discussion of teacher survey (thank you Susan and Susan and Mariko!)
iii. Samples of shirts
Respectfully submitted,
