
SCHOOL COMMUNITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
DECEMBER 14 2005, 3:30 PM
I. WELCOME: Vice-chairperson Susan Endo welcomed the group; Chairperson Momi Kalama could not be here tonight.
II. MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING: Accepted.
III. FINAL DRAFT OF MES ACADEMIC AND FINANCIAL PLAN (NELSON)
Nelson reviewed the Strategic, Academic, and Financial Plan. The final drafts are due on Tuesday.
B. It was moved and seconded that the Makaha Elementary School SCC Council accept the Academic and Financial Plan. All present were in favor; motion passed.
i. UPDATE: Waiver request not due until December 2006!
ii. 6 days have been set aside by Waianae complex schools.
b. JANUARY:
i. SCC MEETING REGARDING CAS RECOMMENDATIION TO AFP.
ii. BEGIN WORK ON WAIVER/EXCEPTION REQUEST (NON-CALENDAR TYPE REQUESTS)
1. After discussion, there are no other waiver/exception requests to be made.
c. FEBRUARY:
i. BEGIN ELECTIONS, IF NECESSARY (WE DO NOT-WE HAVE TWO YEAR TERMS)
1. The council discussed our overlapping terms (everyone was elected at the same time for 2-year terms). We will postpone discussions until the end of the year to see if there will be any moves due to attrition.
d. MARCH: WAIVER/EXCEPTION REQUESTS DUE BY 2ND FRIDAY IN MARCH
i. No waiver/exception requests will be made.
e. APRIL: There will be a Parent Symposium on April 20th; please let Lynn know if you are interested in attending.
f. MAY: ATTEND STATE SCC TRAINING SESSIONS FOR DISTRICT TRAINERS
