III. CAS RECOMMENDATIONS TO ACADEMIC AND FINANCIAL PLANS: NELSON SHIGETA

A. Mr. Shigeta reported that the CAS recommendations to Makaha's Academic and Financial plans involved slight changes in terminology.

IV. SCC ONLINE TRAINING

A. Facilitator Lynn Okamura shared a memo regarding the eLearning Course designed to facilitate the understanding of key concepts and the framework for the implementation of School Community Councils.

V. UPCOMING TASKS

A. January: SCC meeting regarding CAS recommendation to Academic/Financial plan, begin work on waiver/exception request (non-calendar type requests).

a. February:

i. Begin elections, if necessary (we do not, since we have two-year terms)

b. March: Waiver/exception requests due by 2nd Friday

c. May: attend state SCC training sessions for district trainers

a. April 20TH: Parent Symposium

b. June SCC meeting date (14th) not set, will assess need at April/May meeting.

c. Concern from parent: Why the need for 2nd set of parent conferences? Reply: report cards at end of first and second quarter are different.

d. Farm Position: The teaching position presently at the farm is being cut as a result of the Weighted Student Formula. School and district do not have funds to support this position.

The next scheduled meeting is February 8, 2006.
