BOYHOOD OF KAMEHAMEHA. (V00462) The schooling for leadership received during his formative years was one of the most important factors that prepared Kamehameha to unite the Hawaiian Islands under his rule. CORONATION OF OLD HAWAII. (V07464) Before the Hawaiian Islands were united by Kamehameha the Great, they were ruled by many powerful high chiefs who established their position by conquest or by inheritance. They were officially recognized as moi or ruler during an investiture ceremony. The participants were composed of alii (chiefs) and kahuna (priests). This reenactment of the ceremony was researched and staged by Elsie Ross Lane of Aloha Week Pageants. EJH, 10:57. Dub no. 2545-1. (dub rights expire 7/24/99).

THE HAWAII REVOLUTION - 1893. (A00545) A historical account of the Hawaiian Revolution of 1893. Describes the reign, escapades and death of King Kalakaua; and the reign of Queen Liliuokalani in which the monarchy ended on January 17, 1893. EJH, 30:00, B/W. Dub no. 0201-1.
