SAMPLE PROJECT IDEAS AND EXAMPLES
For Hyper Studio 3.1

Creative Writing

Grade 2 ... Students will be able to write a nature poem and illustrate it using Hyper Studio. Students can also record their voices and add their pictures to their page.

The classroom teacher can then assemble all students works in an anthology book, creating buttons to link to each student's page.

Grade 3.... Students will be able to write a creative story on a topic of their choice about 4 - 5 pages long. Students will also add their own pictures and sound clips to their works.
The classroom teacher can assist the students in creating buttons to link their pages in a linear format.

Grade 6... Students will be able to create a comic using Hyper Studio on a topic of their choice.

Content Area Reports

Grade 4 Social Studies... Students will be able to demonstrate their knowledge of volcanoes through a hyper studio stack, filled with pictures, information, voice clips and animation, following the story board that was approved by the classroom teacher.

Grade 4 Science... Students use Hyper Studio as part of their Science Fair Project, which focuses on the question: "How are Volcanoes Formed?"

Grade 5 Science ... Students will be able to project their understanding of the systems needed to survive in space through the creation of a Mars Habitat.

Grade 5 Social Studies / Science ... Students will be able to use HyperStudio to project what the FUTURE of EARTH and SPACE would be.

Portfolio Project

Grade 3 - 6 ... Students will be able to create a Portfolio of their works.

Grades K - 2 ...Teachers will highlight students works in a class portfolio.

ASSIGNMENT for Hyper Studio

Select to do one of the following

  1. Create a multimedia stack (at least 5 cards) of your choice, which focuses on the Benchmark of a content of your choice and NETS (National Education Technology Standards. (Must have at least 5 cards)
    • Create a stack highlighting the members of your family.
    • Create a porfolio of your works or the works of a student in your class
    • Create a "How To Stack" of your choice.

For those seeking PD credits

  1. Create a lesson which integrates Hyper Studio into your curriculum, aligning it with as many Technology Standards and Content Area Standards as possible.
  2. Try out your lesson in your classroom.
  3. Keep a log of what you did. What worked. What didn't. What you would do differently.
  4. Include samples of your work and/or students works.
