SAVING A FILE
RETRIEVING A FILE

1. Go to FILE, SAVE AS and navigate to your data disk.

1. Insert data disk in computer.

2. Go to DESKTOP, locate and OPEN desired data disk.

2. Launch Kid Pix

3. Name file with a simple name and your initials (Make certain it makes sense). For Example... mammal.ms

3. Go to FILE and OPEN and navigate to your data disk.

4. Click SAVE!

4. Go to DESKTOP, locate and OPEN desired data disk.

5. Eject Data Disk

5. Locate and OPEN desired file.

INSERTING KID PIX PICTURES in other applications.

Use the INSERT method:

 

  1. Launch Claris Works or Apple Works or MS Word
  2. Turn on Tools
  3. Select Arrow or Drawing Tool
  4. Go to FILE and INSERT
  5. Navigate to and Locate desired file or picture
  6. Click on INSERT
  7. Move picture to desired location
  8. You can RESIZE or modify pictures in the ARRANGE menu
  9. SAVE file

Use the COPY and PASTE method.

 

  1. Launch Kid Pix
  2. Locate and Open desired file
  3. Use the MAGNET in the TRUCK tool to draw a square around the desired picture
  4. Go to EDIT menu and COPY (This will put picture in memory of the computer on its clipboard)
  5. CLOSE and/or QUIT Kid Pix
  6. Launch Claris Works or Apple Works
  7. Open document with text
  8. Turn on Tools
  9. Select Arrow or Drawing Tools
  10. Go to EDIT and PASTE
  11. Move picture to desired location
  12. You can RESIZE or modify pictures in the ARRANGE menu
  13. SAVE file

POSTING to the Web. (See Samples)

Posting Pictures as a gif:

 

  1. Launch Kid Pix
  2. OPEN desired picture
  3. Go to FILE and select EXPORT a GRAPHIC
  4. Name your file. Notice, you can select the gif format for picture or the jpeg format for photographs.
  5. Click on SAVE

Posting SlideShows as a Quicktime Movie:

 

  1. Launch Kid Pix
  2. OPEN desired SlideShow
  3. Go to FILE and select SAVE as a QUICKTIME MOVIE

Posting SlideShows as an animated gif:

 

  1. Follow steps to saving each slide as a gif.
  2. Launch GifBuilder
  3. Import each picture of the slide show into GifBuilder
  4. Decide on the amount of time to view each slide as well as the number of time you want to view the slides.
  5. SAVE as a gif
