Course Description:

Let teaching and learning become FUN again! Spice up your instruction and inspire your students to create reports that not only demonstrate their understanding of a concept but captivate their audience's attention through the use of multimedia programs. Participants will use Kid Pix Studio Deluxe, HyperStudio 3.1 and Power Point to create lessons and/or presentations that will enhance their teaching and students learning.

During this three day workshop, participants will learn to create a simple animation / or slide show using Kid Pix. They will also demonstrate their understanding of a particular concept through the use of HyperStudio, and will create a presentation of their choice using Power Point. While working with these program, participants will generate ways of integrating at least two of them in their curriculum and will also review sample rubrics which could be used to evaluate their own or students projects. On the last day, participants will share their creations.

Level and Prerequisites

All who possess: 1) knowledge of Basic MacIntosh Skills, 2) familiarity with drawing on the computer and 3) use of and access to an email account.

Credit

2 PD credits (pending) will be offered to anyoneinterested in applying what they have learned in the classroom SY 00-01. Concluding session for PD credits at end of first semester. The date to be determined by participants.
