There are over one hundred and sixty (160) Parent Centers in Hawaii public schools. Each Center is unique and designed to meet the needs of its school community.

As families school and community relate in harmony, the results are strengthened families, and a sense of pride, accomplishment, and community."

Pahoa PCNC began in 1987.



Services include:
Communication and info, Monthly Calendar/Newsletters;
Internet introduction , world wide web visits, E-mail account set-up;
Coordinating resources, planning activities and recruiting; participants Na Ali'i program;
Student Body Government & Service Club ;
"Comfort Zone" relaxation spot for teachers, staff and parents;
Teacher/staff appreciation and recognition;
Volunteer services: application, training, placement and recognition;
Campus and community beautification projects;
New student/parent orientation, information and assistance;
Referrals to community groups, agencies and service providers;
Assessing needs, surveying teachers, parents and school community;
Adult education information and class development for lifelong learning.
