Team 1-Kalama Intermediate School

Team 1 comes from Samuel E. Kalama Intermediate School in Makawao, Maui, Hawaii. The team consists of Zelda Harrell (library paraprofessional), Diane Banks (7th grade Science), and Shirley Yamada (library media specialist). Their Unit plan focuses on Maui's beaches and involves 7th grade science students in projects where they have an opportunity to study in-depth and over an extended period of time various beaches on Maui as they explore issues affecting their sustainability.
