Malama I Na Haumana

Care for the Students
A Transition Assistance Center

Our Mission:
Radford High School's 'Malama I Na Haunama Program' is a transition and orientation experience addressing the needs of mobile students. The curriculum is designed to provide preparation and support for all transitioning students to promote academic achievement and a successful adjustment into the Radford community.

Our Vision:
'Malama I Na Haunama' is committed to providing a caring, challenging, culturally enriched environment that develops responsible, independent, lifelong learners. We will empower students and staff to collaborate in the self-directed process of learning.

Our Guiding Principles:

  • Encourage community and cultural interest with six independent units of instruction.
  • Promote peer and social interaction through Youth Sponsorship and Lunch Bunch.
  • Offer Interactive Counseling Center (ICC) to provide real time communication and face-to-face interaction.
  • Support parent involvement through Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO).
  • Provide training for Youth Facilitators and academic assistance with a Part-Time Teacher (PTT) Program.
