Classroom Technology Integration 2006 is brought to you by the Advanced Technology Research Section in the Office of Curriculum, Instruction and Student Support, Hawaii State Department of Education. This program provides technical support on hardware, software and application of new and emerging technologies for students, teachers and support staff in our schools. Standards Based Education for all content areas can be supported by integrating the use of technology to motivate students, expand instructional resources and open communication to business, university, community and other schools around the world.
The program features business experts, community projects, and school examples. Computer and software vendors, networking experts, video and multimedia technicians share new and evolving technologies. Wireless technology, cell phones, PDAs, tablet technology, video conferencing, Internet services (IP Phones) are some of the topics that will be covered.
Students, teachers, and school support staff will be invited to
share their activities. Standards Based Education is the common bond
for all of the educational activities in our schools. Good examples
and model programs will be shared.
The program will be focusing on the instructional curriculum issues
that effect Standards Based Instruction. There will be a change
of the name and the contecnt will be addressing how technoloogy can
support delivery of Standards Based Instruction. Specific
examples of student achievement will be modeled by teachers and
students in the classroom.
