Whale Paragraphs

Whales
Splash! Splash! Whales are mammals that have hair. A whale lives in rivers and oceans. A whale has blubber. A whale is warm-blooded. Dolphins scare fish by leaping. Some whales have dorsal fins. There are two types of whales baleen and toothed. A blue whale's heart is four times the size of a man. The baleen of a bowhead whale is 13 feet long. The melon head whale and the beluga whale have melon-shaped heads. Migrating Gray whales shower in waterfalls to wash off barnacles. Sperm whales were killed for spermaceti, which was used to make candle wax. The Sperm whale has the largest brain in the world.
Whales spyhop to look around. A whale can trap fish with a bubblenet and then eat them. When a whale's head is underwater and it slaps its tail repeatedly against the water that is called lobtailing. A whale spouts to breathe air. Whales also breach. Scientists don't know why they do this. Whales kickfeed to surprise fish then they eat the fish. To flipper a whale lifts its flipper or flippers and slaps them against the surface of the water. When a whale is logging it looks like a floating log.
The Blue whale is the longest living thing there is. Some types of dolphin are the Bottlenose, the Commersons, and Risso's Dolphin. The Narwhal and Beluga whale live by the North Pole in the Arctic Ocean. The Right whale was the one that sailors hunted the most. The Sperm whale has a square head. The Humpback whale is known for its songs. The Finback whale is the second longest whale. The smallest baleen whale is the Pygmy Right whale.

Thar she blows! Whales are very cool! When they spout the spray can go up to be 30 feet high! Whales are huge mammals that live in the deep blue sea. Whales are very amazing, by breaching they can make a huge footprint.
Whales do things like spyhopping, migrating, and lobtailing. Each year a bull whale makes up a song to sing to their mate. Whales use echolocation to find their prey in the water. Whales come to Hawaii have their baby, so the baby can be born in warm water. The first thing the mom does is brings it to surface so it can breathe.
The blue whale is as big as 3 school buses! Killer whales eat fish, seals, penguins, and baby whales. Sperm whales can stay under water the longest to find their food which is the giant squid! Right whales can be as long as 35 to 50 feet long and weigh 40 to 80 tons!

Whish whish! whales look like a fish but they are mammals. Whales have flukes so they can swim. Whales are not small they are as big as a house. There are two different kinds of whales baleen and toothed.
Whales like to play. Whales sometimes like to breach. Whales like to eat fish call krill and little fish. Whales like to swim and splash.
There are about 80 different kinds of whales. There is a Blue whale and a killer whales all over the sea. If you go on a whale watch you may see Humpback whales. Humpback whales have blowholes Humpback whales have hair. Humpback whales breathe air and have lungs. Humpback whales have baleen. Humpback whales are big. Humpback whales are warmblooded. Humpback whales have smooth skin Humpback whales have babies. When Humpback babies are born they are born alive. Humpback whale are all over the sea. Humpback whales have blubber. Humpback whales have flukes. Humpback whales sing songs. Small babies humpback whales drink warm milk. Humpback whales use echolocation in order to find food. Humpback whales have fins. Humpback whales do not have teeth.

Whales
Whales are mammals. They are warm blooded. The whales swim by flipping its tail up and down. Fish swim with fins from side to side. Humpback whales give birth to their babies in the Pacific Ocean. If they give birth in Alaska where their food is the baby might die because
the water is too cold.
Did you ever see a Humpback whale breaching? Whales lobtail to play but sometimes when whales lobtail they are warning the other whales that there is something dangerous in the water. Humpback whales have plenty of ukus (lice) on them. The ukus are called barnacles. A Humpback whale can eat a ton of krill.
There are about 80 different kinds of whales. There used to be more, but because people were killing the whales many more are endangered. Many sailers used to catch and kill the a whale that is called the Right whale. The Right whale got its name because that was the right whale to catch. There are not many of them left because of the hunting. People need to help the whales by protecting them.

There are many different kinds of whales. A beluga whale is white. The killer whales eat seals and they always go up to shore. They make sounds in the water. Humpback whales sing their own songs. The humpback whale's flipper is fourteen feet long. A humpback whale grows up to fifty feet long. They have baleen.

Bang Bang! That was a mother and her baby whale. They are not fish. The female is called a cow and a male is called a bull. They have a little bit of hair. Whales are mammals and are warm blooded like humans.
Whales use echolocation and sing songs to each other. They migrate in the winter to Hawaii. They come to Maui to give birth and breach. They eat shrimp and the little plants called plankton. They go to the top and blow out the old air. The hole at the top of their head is called a blowhole.
A beluga is a white whale and it lives by the North Pole in the Arctic Ocean. A sperm whale can stay under water for a very long. The toothed whales only has one blowhole on its head. Killer whales are also called orcas. The killer whale has sharp teeth. The blue whale is so big. It is even bigger than a dinosaur. The baby blue whale is the biggest baby in the world.

Whales are almost extinct because of people who hunt for a whales blubber to make things like fertilizer and other things. Whales have thick layers of fat called blubber so they can live in their Alaskan home up North. There are two types of whales toothed and baleen whales. Whales carry uku like creatures called barnacles. A whale is not a fish. A whale's tail goes up and down and a fishes goes side to side.
A whale likes to lobtail, that means that they lift their heads under water and slap their tails again and again on the waters surface. Whales jump out of the water which is called breaching. Whales do something a sailor on a submarine does called spyhopping. When a whale lifts their body up until the eyes are above the water surface and look around this is called spyhopping. Whales do something that is called spouting which they spout out droplets of water. Some whales are intelligent, they use this trick to find fish called echolocation. Whales something that fisherman would build a net but with bubbles which they make from their blowhole and air to catch fish.
Blue Whales are the largest whale and mammal. The Pygmy Whale is the smallest of the whale species. The Killer Whale's dorsal fin is the largest of all the other whales dorsal fins. A Gray Whales have the longest migration of 6,000 miles.

When the whales have their baby the mom takes the baby up to the surface to breathe. The whales eat krill and fish. The sperm whale has the biggest teeth and eats huge giant squid.
Whales travel a long way. They jump and play and find food. Whales come to Hawaii to give birth and they go to Alaska to eat. Whales makes sounds to each other whales. Whales swim fast and like to play. They travel together to help keep each other safe.
Dolphins are the highest jumpers. They are the fastest swimmers. Killer whales haves the biggest dorsal fin. They eat seals, and penguins. When a mother gives birth the mother haves to push the baby up to the surface.

Some whales are black and some are blue.
