Ka'ena Point is the westernmost point of the island of O'ahu and is significant first
of all for its unique dune ecosystem
found nowhere else in the world and secondly, because
it had religious value, being the point where the ancient Hawaiians believed
to be the Leina or jumping off point to the spirit world. In Legend, it is connected to the demi-god Maui.
